It’s personal
Karen benefited from the credit for prior learning experience, which propelled her successful career from the military into higher education leadership.
Credit for prior learning is still a hard and cumbersome process for students, faculty, staff, and employers.
EAS was created by two higher education professionals who brought together their lived experiences and the lessons learned in almost 50 years in higher education. In November 2019, after presenting at a conference focusing on AI student facing apps, we started talking about PLA.
EAS emerged as an opportunity to leverage AI, provide a centralized method to collect student information without 1:1 guidance; support the faculty with recommendations, calibrate credit awards across reviewers, and bring data transparency to ensure optimal resource allocation.
The vision has grown to provide insights at the competency level -- mapping JIT learning to employment.
